Dinner at Bamiyan

Last night, we headed to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner - Bamiyan.

It's a Japanese chain of Chinese-style food located right off base, next to Sobudai-mae train station.

For some odd reason, their logo is a peach and unfortunately, I'm sad to report that they have just redone the interior of the restaurant in shades of peach and cream.

As space is at a premium, Bamiyan is one of those restaurants that's located on the second level of the building, with the first level devoted to an open air parking lot.

Once you're seated, you will not be served until you've hit the call button on table (which I find nice, since it gives you the exact time you need to figure out what you want to order).

After sharing a double order of gyoza (fried dumplings) as an appetizer, I ordered my favorite dish - A chicken cutlet that comes drenched in some sort of soy sauce/vinegar concoction that is out of this world. Accompanied by white rice and egg drop soup, it was the perfect amount of food.

Amy went with a more traditional meal, ramen with pork wonton dumplings and a big mug of Sapporo beer.

Rich had vegetable fried rice with a side ramen.

Dad also went with the vegetable fried rice.

With the three of them drinking the big mugs of beer, I think our alcohol tab ended up being as much as our meal tab. I think that's Rich's favorite part about visiting Japan is trying out all the different beers.
