New Twist on an Old Favorite

Later Saturday night, to fete Rosie and Robin for their birthdays, a group of us headed out to the South End to eat at Pho Republique.

My impressions of the place:
  • You definitely need a reservation to get a table there on a Saturday night.
  • It's very popular for girls, there were tons of other girls doing "Girls Night Out" dinners as well as a bachelorette party.
  • The decor was a little kitschy but charming at the same time.
  • Entrees are way overpriced - stick with ordering the appetizers.
  • Drinks were very good:

That's Jen's very "Blue Hawaii" on the left and my Pomegranate Lime Rickey on the right - it was basically a gin tonic with Pomegranate juice or syrup in it - very yummy!

This was one of the two pupu platters we ordered to get a little taste of everything - my favorites were the Chicken Ginger Potstickers, the Candied Garlic Spareribs and the Fried Shrimp with Sriracha Aioli sauce:

It was a bit of a haul to walk to Pho Republique from the Copley T stop but I would do it again - just not on a Saturday night!
