Hoppy Easter!

The title of this post was inspired 1) by Marie Elizabeth's shirt and 2) a text from my sister today.

One of the things I love about Easter is how excited kids get about it.

Case and point.

Marie Elizabeth's delight in her Easter basket loot - I'm loving the cute Easter pajamas and that adorable smile as she examines her eggs - I can only imagine how much bigger that smile got once she realized there was candy in the eggs!
And for those of you too old to remember the thrill of the hunt, just look at Cody on his Easter egg hunt. I love that "spring" in his step and the joy in his face as he spots the egg.  Too cute!

Joyce, as always, I am thrilled to see Marie Elizabeth appear in your blog. You are right, she enjoyed Easter very much. Inside the eggs, however, were her favorite snacks, commonly referred to as "Puffs". She is not eating candy just yet. That will change on the day we celebrate her 1st birthday when she will have chocolate cake for the first time (hopefully baked by me). Happy Easter to you and Andrew!

Haha, Jeanne, this is another one of the moments when I'm totally revealed as a non-parent for not realizing someone as young as Marie wouldn't eat candy! :) Perhaps I should've written something along the lines of "I can only imagine how much bigger that smile got once she realized that there would be candy in the eggs next year!"
