I've Got Mail..

I haven't participated in  a BzzAgent campaign in ages but couldn't resist this one.  This package arrived in the mail for me today:

The Barely There (brand name) No Slip Fit bra. I couldn't resist the opportunity for a free bra. How often do you hear that phrase? But that's all you're going to see folks, I'm not splashing my underwear on the Internetz for everyone to see. Just the box!

Root Awakening is here!

The latest package from BzzAgent revealed goodies from John Freida's new Root Awakening line:

As I mentioned when I first signed up for this campaign, I'm already a fan of John Freida's Shine Shock so I am eager to try out the stuff I got, including:
  • Root awakening nourishing shampoo for dry hair
  • Root awakening nourishing moisture conditioner for dry hair
  • Health boosting detangling spray

As one of the bottles of detangling spray was leaking when I got it, I can already tell you that the stuff smells great!

Root Awakening

Just got offered a new BzzAgent campaign - John Freida's Root Awakening

Every product in the Root Awakening line is described as being formulated to purify, stimulate, feed and nourish roots and scalp, for hair that looks more resilient, radiant – and 3x healthier.

With Eucalyptus and essential oil (not sure what this is), Root Awakening products are supposed make your head tingle when you use them as a sign they're working. I haven't decided yet whether I like this concept or not.

I'm super excited about this campaign, mainly because I love the John Freida Shine Shock leave-on perfecting glosser that I used on a daily basis and also because it's been a long time since I was offered a toiletry campaign through BzzAgent.

I'm not sure what I'm getting as a part of the Bzz Campaign yet, but I'm hoping it includes a full-size sample of the shampoo, conditioner and the detangling spray.

Since the Root Awakening line includes three different shampoo/conditions combos: Health Infusing for normal hair, Nourishing Moisture for dry hair and Strength Restoring for breakage-prone hair, I'm also curious to see which type I get sent.

I'll keep you posted, of course.

Two More BzzAgent Campaigns

I’ve been meaning to blog about these for the past couple of weeks, but it keeps slipping my mind.

In addition to the Pledge campaign I’m currently doing, I also got offered campaigns for Diet Mountain Dew, The Fragrance Collection by Glade and some sort of Afrin nose spray. I turned down the Afrin campaign because I’ve always been leery of nasal products. I know they’re highly addictive and I’d rather avoid something that has that kind of effect, even if it’s free!

Anyway, getting back to the campaigns I did join, I received a box for The Fragrance Collection by Glade around three weeks ago:

Included was a big, three-wick candle – the type that resembles the nice candles you would buy at a place like Yankee Candle:

The Fragrance Collection offers six different scents, three with over 90% natural ingredients: Earthly Awakening, McIntosh Apple and Orange Vanilla and the other three: Sheer White Cotton, Currants & Acai and Lotus and Bamboo.

I received the Currants & Acai soy-based candle, which is described as “tart red currants, tangy acai berries and red fruit accents” which literally sounds good enough to eat. I can tell you that from the moment I opened the box, the candle’s pleasantly fruity scent hit my nose immediately. On first impression, I really like how the candle is packaged as well, with a solid glass jar and simple but colorful label. You get the impression that this is a solid, quality candle that will last a long time!

More importantly, the candles in this line:

  • Have not been tested on animals
  • Do not have a lead wick
  • Are in a recyclable container
  • Contain no Geranyl Nitrile or Diacetyl (have no idea what those are, but they don’t sound good)
  • But do contain over 90% natural ingredients (at least three of the candles do)

Immediately, this made me think of a coworker of mine who’s into natural and organic materials for things like her makeup, vitamins and food so I brought in the candle for her.

If you’re interested in buying a candle yourself, I still have the $3 off coupons that came with the Bzz kit. I may end up using one of the coupons to buy the McIntosh Apple scent, which sounds heavenly and the perfect scent to drive the winter stuffiness out of my place.

I also signed up for the Diet Mountain Dew campaign and was laughing at the fact that I was sent two actual cans of it (along with a coupon for a free 12-pack of it, plus coupons to hand out).

Anyone who knows me know that I don’t drink coffee or most teas, which means I get my daily dose of caffeine from diet sodas. I’ve always enjoyed diet Mountain Dew because it’s one of the diet sodas that tastes almost like the real thing. In fact, it’s tough for me to drink most “regular” sodas these days since to me, they taste worse than diet sodas! Diet Mountain Dew has the same shocking yellow color as the original, and a decent citrus taste to accompany the caffeine kick. Most days, I try to hold off until lunch time to have my daily soda but on the days when I really need energy in the morning, Diet Mountain Dew works great as a morning drink. I think of it as my caffeinated orange juice (how great would that be?) since its citrus flavor is milder than your typical dark soda. So the next time you see me, if I’m bouncing off the walls, it’s because I’ve made inroads into my free case of Diet Mountain Dew from BzzAgent.

More Free Stuff

Courtesy of my friends at BzzAgent:

I can't wait to see the Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair in action, because it sounds like it's fun to use. As opposed to using sticky sheets (which never seem to work on my common lint rollers), the Fabric Sweeper is a handheld device that you hold and sweep over surfaces using short strokes. In fact, one PledgeFabric Sweeper picks up as much pet hair as 145 sticky roller sheets. I'm also how well it works on human hair, since I have plenty of that clinging to surfaces in my house. And the thing I find amazing is that the Fabric Sweeper is supposed to be self-cleaning. As you go in one direction, one roller picks up the pet hair from the surface. When you go in the other direction, the second roller cleans off the first and pushes the pet hair inside.

I think it will be really satisfying (and gross at the same time) to pull out the big wad of hair at the end of a cleaning session.

I was also pleasantly surprised to see a free bottle of Pledge's new multi-surface cleaner, which I didn't know was going to be included in this Bzz campaign. I have no loyalty to any particular cleaner, I tend to buy anything that is on sale or the cheapest. However, I think I'm really going to like Pledge's cleaner because it can be used on anything, like:
  • Wood
  • Wood Laminate
  • Plastics
  • Stainless Steel
  • Glass
  • Mirrors
  • Electronics
  • Granite

It's supposed to have an anti-static formula, which will be good for cleaning electronics and most importantly, it won't leave a residue.

And the best part is that I scored the Rainshower scent rather than Lavendar, which is a scent I tend to dislike since it smells too musky to me.

(In case you're wondering, yes, I'm using this post as a Bzz report.)

Fruits & Passion Campaign

I had a package waiting for me when I got home tonight. I tore into it and realized it was from BzzAgent with everything I needed to participate in their Fruits & Passion campaign.

As you can see, it was loaded with goodies, including:

  • Their famous Cucina hand soap in coriander and olive oil
  • A small sample of Cucina regenerating hand cream
  • A sample of their Argan nourishing butter
  • A sample of their cooling cream gel to be used on feet
  • And the best part - $75 in gift cards to be used at the Fruits & Passion store

What exactly is Fruits & Passion? It's a chain of stores that began in Canada and have now expanded globally to locations like Japan. I think of them kind of like The Body Shop or Bath and Body Works as they sell a variety of lotions, soaps, aromatherapy products, candles, perfume and all sorts of nicely scented products. There's five locations in the US, and I happen to live very close to the Fruits & Passion store in the Natick Collection, the fancy new mall that just opened up 20 minutes away from me.

Although I had never heard of them before, I'm excited to check out the store and put those gift cards to use. From their website, the store layout look colorful, light and airy and they have colorful packaging and bags that prominetly feature the color green, yay! At first glance, I'm eager to check these products out:

Their Green Tea perfume. I love Green Tea as a scent and since my favorite perfumes seem to be discontinued left and right, this may serve as a good replacement.

Fruiting Foaming Bath in Grapefruit - Guava
Not only does the scent sound heavenly, the bottle just looks cool!

Cucina Countertop cleaner - It's biodegradable and has no phosphates, ammonia, chlorine and alcohol

HOTdog Eau de Toilette - Perfume for dogs! I think the packaging is adorable even though I think it's unfair that they don't have a line for cats.
So, I was going to warn everyone to expect Fruits & Passion stocking stuffers for Christmas but I think it may be too easy to buy stuff for myself!

BzzAgent

So I've been a member of a word-of-mouth marketing website for over four years called BzzAgent.com.

As a member of the site, you're asked to fill out a few surveys to create a profile. And when a campaign opens up for a product or service and you match the demographics that the site is looking for, you are offered the chance to participate in a campaign.

Basically, you're given the chance to get a bunch of cool stuff for free, often before it hits the market, with no obligation to do anything but try it out and give your honest opinion about it to as many people you feel like.

Even better, if you post a Bzz report detailing how you talked about a product or what you said, someone from Bzz agent will read it, rate it on how thorough it was in terms of including quotes of people said, whether you disclosed you're a BzzAgent, etc, write a comment back about your post and award you points that can be used to get a giftcard for a store of your choice (there used to be actual prizes tailored for each campaign but they just revamped the reward process earlier this year).

So it's a win-win situation. You get free stuff with no obligation. Some campaigns I've been motivated to write 3 -4 reports. Some I've written nothing at all. But this is a sampling of what I've gotten free over the years:

  • Wrigley's Winterfresh & Big Red gum
  • Energizer e2 Lithium batteries
  • Filativa yoga shoes (I still have these brand new somewhere because they were damn ugly)
  • Lemon Snicket: The Bad Beginning Book
  • Betty Crocker Warm Delights
  • Staples One-Touch Stapler (Still my favorite office supply that elicits amazed responses from my coworkers. )
  • Automatic Tape Measure
  • Tickets to a White Christmas performance in Boston
  • Troll dolls
  • Nutella
  • Hershey's Take 5 candy bars
  • Scrubbing Bubbles Automatic Shower cleaner
  • RALPH Hot perfume
  • Sonicare Toothbrush
  • Pledge Duster Plus
  • Movie tickets to The Last Mimzy
  • Eucerin Lotion
  • Chapstick 100% Naturals
  • CVS photo book
  • Canadian Club whiskey
  • Claritin RediTabs
  • Max Factor

It's a pretty sweet deal, huh? I just got offered two new campaigns this week. One for Fruits & Passion and one for Boston Market. More to come on these later.
